Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room

Location: Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Role: Registered Nurse in Emergency Care
• Shift: Rotating 36-hour position
• Housing: Shared housing provided (no pets, no guests allowed)
• Transportation: Must bring own transportation
• Vaccine Requirement: Current influenza vaccine required

Required Credentials & Certifications

• Professional Licenses:

  • Valid nursing license with primary source verification (NURSYS and Board of Nursing required)
  • MA Conditional Licenses NOT accepted

• Certifications:

  • BLS (AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military)
  • ACLS (AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military)
  • PALS (AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military)
  • TNCC

• Background Checks & Verifications:

  • Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start
  • Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start
  • Social Security Number trace for past 7 years
  • National Sex Offender Registry check within 30 days prior to start
  • Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start
  • Education verification of highest level achieved

• References:

  • Two recent references required, including at least one supervisor or above in the relevant skillset

• Skills Checklist:

  • Completion of required skills checklist for submission

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30); no exemptions allowed
• Documentation of MMR immunity (two doses or proof of immunity via blood test)
• TB test documentation within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test)
• Health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date
• Fit test for N95 respirator within 365 days of start date, updated annually (no religious exemptions)
• Hepatitis B vaccination strongly preferred (3 doses or proof of immunity or declination)
• Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
• If positive TB test, documentation of negative chest X-ray required

Additional Information

• Respirator Medical Clearance attestation required if fit test is needed
• Must comply with housing agreement if moving into shared housing
• Candidate must have current flu vaccine
• No prior travel experience explicitly required for this position
