Description
Travel RN - Emergency Department
Location: Washington, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Role: Registered Nurse (RN) in Emergency Department (ED)
- Employment Type: Travel
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Weekend Hours: As required by the facility
- Must be willing to float to other units as needed
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in Missouri (or temporary work permit)
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- Minimum 1+ years of Emergency Room (ER) experience required
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card
- Graduate of a state-approved School of Nursing
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize care and comfort
- Work within the scope of nursing practice consistent with Missouri Nurse Practice Act and facility standards
- Demonstrate clinical expertise and strong communication skills
- Physical demands include standing and walking most of the shift, lifting and pushing patients (up to 50 lbs), and occasional kneeling or crouching
Work Environment
- Clean, air-conditioned facility
- Use of EPIC electronic medical record system and other standard medical equipment
- Dress code: Black scrubs
Additional Information
- Flu vaccination required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1 (exemptions require approval)
- Facility is a Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke and STEMI Center
- Recognized for quality care and safety, including multiple awards and high safety grades
This position is ideal for experienced Emergency Department RNs seeking a travel assignment in a well-regarded acute care hospital with a strong trauma and stroke program.
