Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology (IR) Tech
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Details
- Shift/Hours: 4x10 hour day shifts (07:00 - 17:30)
- Schedule Requirements:
- Weekends required as part of on-call scheduling
- Holidays required as scheduled
- On-call: 5 shifts per 8-week schedule (includes weeknights, weekends, holidays)
- Floating within specialty may be required
- Patient Age Range: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
- Work Environment: High volume, fast-paced interventional department with approximately 18 cases per day and 5 procedure rooms
- Start Date: January 26, 2026
Experience Requirements
- Years of Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years in Interventional Radiology (IR)
- Preferred Experience: Neuro IR (NIR) experience is highly preferred
- Travel Experience: First-time travelers accepted; prior travel experience not required
Licenses & Certifications
- Maryland State License
- ARRT-R (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Radiography)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- I9 or Attestation
- Government Issued Photo ID
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, education verification
- Maryland State Exclusions List check
- Physical exam within 1 year including Latex Screen
- Fit mask test within 1 year
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility guidelines
- Immunizations/vaccinations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- Negative drug screen (9-panel) within 30 days prior to start
- Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- COVID vaccine not required for this location but documentation collected for tracking
- Two supervisory references within 1 year
- Employment application/resume within 30 days of start
- Verification of previous 5 years of work history
Facility Specific Information
- Uniform: Navy blue scrubs; pink scrubs for trauma unit; pediatric department allows child-friendly tops with navy blue pants
- Dress code: No jeans, no open-toe shoes, no sleeveless tops, no shorts in certain departments
- Passport-style photo with solid white/beige background required for badge
- Confidentiality agreement and job description acknowledgment required prior to start
Additional Notes
- Must score 80% or higher on required competency exams (medication, age-specific, dysrhythmia/EKG, etc.) within 1 year of start
- Epic Portfolio Training Test Out available for eligible candidates
- Some certifications and competencies may be required as applicable by profession
This position is ideal for IR Techs with strong interventional radiology skills, including neuro IR experience, who are comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with on-call and weekend responsibilities.
