Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ED RN) - Washington, DC

Position Details

Work Schedule & Requirements

  • Every other weekend and every other holiday required
  • Ratios: 1 nurse to 4-5 patients
  • No floating between units
  • No on-call required
  • No block scheduling accommodations

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA only, must be current and valid at start
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA only, must be current and valid at start
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – Required for all ED staff, must be current and valid at start

Additional Preferred Certifications

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Preferred but not required for ED
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – As required

Licensure

  • Must hold a valid Washington D.C. nursing license
  • License must be verified through primary source and valid at start (cannot expire within 30 days of start)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (DC mandate; medical and religious exemptions not accepted)
  • Proof of I9 or attestation
  • Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
  • E-Verify or attestation
  • Background check: 7-year criminal history, nationwide, sex offender, FACIS Level 3, education verification, and international searches as applicable
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
  • Education verification through primary source (transcripts/diplomas not accepted as sole proof)
  • Physical exam completed by a physician, updated annually, using facility-specific form (physician statements alone not accepted)
  • Fit mask testing within one year, updated annually
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (vaccine or declination form)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (titer or 2 vaccines, booster if needed)
    • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination form)
    • Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines, booster if needed)
    • Flu vaccine required annually (religious/medical exemptions accepted with approval)
  • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within last 12 months (instant acceptable)
  • References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
  • Employment application/resume including licensure, certifications, education, and employment history

  • Candidates must complete facility-specific forms such as job description acknowledgement and crisis/employee health packets prior to start
