Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Labor and Delivery / Med Surg Float)

Job Description

• Role: Labor and Delivery RN with ability to float to Med Surg
• Responsibilities:

  • Provide care in nursery, labor, and mother/baby units
  • Float to Med Surg unit when OB patients are not present
  • Assist on Med Surg unit as needed (orientation provided; prior Med Surg experience not required)
• Workload: At least 50% of time on Med Surg
• Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour night shifts (7 PM - 7 AM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Experience & Certifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience required in specialty
• Certifications required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • Fetal Monitoring
• First-time travelers are welcome (prior travel experience NOT required)

Requirements & Compliance

• Background checks including 7-year work/living history, sex offender search, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks
• State-specific checks for Missouri (EDL and Highway Patrol)
• Competency exam in specialty area (annual update required)
• Health documents:

  • Physical exam signed by MD, PA, or NP
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • TB questionnaire (annual)
  • Immunizations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (titers or vaccination documentation)
  • Drug testing: 11-panel within 30 days of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (required during flu season)
  • COVID-19 vaccination (fully vaccinated required; medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• Licensing:

  • State license verification immediately prior to assignment start
  • If using compact license, must be permanent resident of that state with proof of residency
• Documentation:

  • I9 or attestation confirming work eligibility in the US
  • Photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Residency declaration if using compact license
• History and references:

  • 2 professional references from supervisory roles (one within last 12 months)
  • Performance evaluation from most recent employer if with agency over 1 year
  • Employment application signed by candidate (resume alone not sufficient)
  • Skills checklist required
  • Work history verification: 2 years relevant experience in unit within last 3 years (1 year accepted for LTC, CNA, tech roles)

Additional Notes

• Facility housing offered with a rate decrease
• Orientation to Med Surg provided; prior Med Surg experience not mandatory
• Must be flexible and willing to work across Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Med Surg units
