Job Summary: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Sacramento, California
Contract Length: 9 weeks
Job Description
- Manage patient and family care plans to achieve optimal health outcomes.
- Deliver quality, safe, efficient, and cost-effective nursing care.
- Coordinate healthcare team activities professionally to promote a positive work environment.
- Provide collaborative, evidence-based care meeting national and facility standards.
- Ensure excellent patient and family experience aligned with organizational standards.
- Foster positive relationships between healthcare system and community.
Schedule
- Monday through Friday
- No weekend or on-call requirements
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of recent relevant Registered Nurse experience
Certifications Required
- California RN License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required depending on position
- Other certifications (PALS, NRP, CCRN, TNCC, EFM, etc.) may be position-dependent and should be verified
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check including SSN trace, county searches, sex offender search, education verification, and motor vehicle report (if applicable)
- FACIS Level 3 screening within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter
- EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC sanctions list checks as applicable
- Education verification (Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred)
- State license verification and NURSYS verification within 30 days of start
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per CA law)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (with accommodations for religious exemptions or failed tests)
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- TB test or chest x-ray (annual renewal)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov-April) or signed declination
- Respiratory safety clearance annually
- Color blindness exam if applicable
Documentation and Training
- Must review and sign facility-specific documents including:
- Job description
- Standards of business conduct
- Code of conduct
- Vendor training (2024 and 2025 as applicable)
- Overpayment refund policy
- Regulatory orientation for contracted workers
- Conditional offer of employment attestation
- Religious accommodation forms if applicable
- Competency exams as applicable (medication test, dysrhythmia/EKG, telemetry, etc.)
- Unit-specific skills checklist, renewed annually

- Full 7 years of work history documented with no gaps over 30 days
- Employment verification for up to 7 years required
- Professional references required (2 for clinical/allied/per diem acute care; 1 for per diem non-acute care)
