Description
Travel RN Opportunity - Telemetry Specialty
Location: Springfield, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Telemetry (Tele)
- Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Shift: Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (must be specified on submission)
- Number of Openings: 1
- Weekend Hours: As required by facility
- Call Requirements: None
- Float Requirements: Will float on a rotational basis
Licensure & Certifications
- Current RN license eligible or active in Missouri
- Required Certifications:
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- NIHSS (must be obtained prior to start if not currently held)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience, inpatient only
- Preferred: 1 year neuro inpatient experience
- Must have experience and competence in drug titration
- Prior travel experience is NOT required
Unit Information
- Unit: Neurology 6C
- Number of Beds: 32
- Patient Ratios: Vary (Day 1:5-1:6, Night 1:6-1:7) — ratios not guaranteed
- Patient Types: Neurology, Medical, Medical Telemetry
- Equipment: Telemetry monitors, lift equipment, IV pumps, tube feeding pumps
- EMR System: EPIC
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality
- Utilize nursing process for patients post trauma, surgical interventions, and medical comorbidities
- Maintain professional accountability and adhere to facility mission, values, and standards
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk most of the shift
- Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
- May work varying schedules and shifts based on patient care needs
- Exposure to blood and body fluids
- Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling
Dress Code
- Scrubs must be black
- No other scrub colors allowed
Additional Notes
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1 (no declinations accepted)
- Night shift orientation occurs on day shift and requires availability for the entire week
- Flexible scheduling options available (36 or 48 hours/week)
- Time off requests (RTO) must be made on the back end of the assignment, not during the first week
