Travel RN Opportunity - Tucson, Arizona

Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Tucson, AZ
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM), 3 shifts per 12-hour schedule
Weekend Shifts: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
Unit: MS/Telemetry (Step-down unit from ICU)


Job Description

  • Provide patient care using the Nursing Process in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning and delivering safe care.
  • Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education.
  • Delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience.
  • Supervise and direct assigned personnel delivering patient care.
  • Evaluate assigned patients; plan, implement, and document nursing care.
  • Assist physicians during exams and procedures.
  • Perform patient tests and administer medications within RN scope of practice.
  • Promote patient independence by setting care goals and educating patients and families on conditions, medications, and self-care.
  • Handle cardiac drips and be familiar with TAVRs and Watchman MitraClip procedures.
  • Typically reports to a unit manager or department head.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience (specialty experience required).
  • Arizona RN license.
  • ACLS and BLS certifications required.
  • Must be willing to float to other units as needed.
  • Must be able to start within 2 weeks of offer acceptance.
  • Preferred education: Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Experience with Cerner EMR system.
  • Scrub color: Any.

Notes

  • This is a step-down unit with lower acuity than ICU but requires ability to manage cardiac drips and certain cardiac procedures.
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
