Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Cath Lab (Days)
Location: Midland, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide nursing care for patients before, during, and after angiography, interventional, angiographic cardiac catheterization procedures, and other diagnostic testing.
- Responsibilities include:
- Pre-procedure assessment, pre-medication, documentation of cath process, post-cath care, and patient education.
- Assisting in stress echocardiogram, treadmill exams, nuclear and pharmacologic stress testing, tilt table tests, echocardiograms, cardioversions, and transesophageal echocardiograms.
- Assisting with prep, procedure, and recovery for interventional radiology procedures.
- Sedation monitoring and documentation.
- Application of Holter monitors, event monitors, ambulatory blood pressure monitors, and pacemaker interrogations.
- Insertion of PICC lines and vascular access expertise.
- Operating cardiac and nursing equipment such as cardiac output monitors, hemodynamic monitors, pacemakers/ICDs, intraaortic balloon pump, crash cart, IV pumps, defibrillators, glucometers, and stress machines.
- Scrubbing in for procedures with physicians.
- Recording all pertinent information and developing cardiovascular education materials.
Required Qualifications
- Specialty: Cath Lab Registered Nurse experience (Required)
- Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in Cath Lab nursing (based on required documentation and specialty experience)
- Licensure: Active Michigan RN license (LARA and/or Nursys verification required)
- Certifications:
- American Heart Association BLS (Required)
- American Heart Association ACLS (Required)
- Skills:
- Current skills checklist pertinent to Cath Lab specialty (within 1 year)
- 2 supervisory reference forms completed within the last 2 years
Preferred Qualifications
- Interventional Radiology experience
- 1+ year experience in Electrophysiology
- Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation skills
- Knowledge and operation of intraaortic balloon pump
- Epic EMR experience
- Prior travel work experience preferred (not required)

- Facility requires candidates to be outside a 50-mile radius (local candidates will not be considered).

Summary
This is a temporary Cath Lab RN position requiring strong experience in cardiac catheterization nursing, with a focus on patient care before, during, and after cardiac procedures. Candidates must have at least 2 years of Cath Lab experience, active Michigan licensure, and current BLS and ACLS certifications. Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory. The role involves direct patient care, procedural assistance, and operation of specialized cardiac equipment.
