Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech / XRT with RCIS

Location: Towson, Maryland
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift/Hours: 4x10 hour shifts, 06:30 AM - 5:00 PM
  • On-call: Required
    • Up to 10 weekdays on-call per contract (5 PM - 6 AM, Mon-Thurs)
    • 3 weekends on-call per contract (Fri 5 PM - Mon 6 AM)
  • Weekends: Required as needed on the unit, combined with call requirements
  • Holidays: Required as scheduled
  • Unit: 2 Cath Labs, 1 Hybrid OR
  • Patient Population: Adult, Geriatric
  • Procedures Performed:
    • IABP, Rotablator, Shockwave, Structural, PFO, TAVR, MitraClip, Watchman
  • Equipment/Documentation:
    • GE Innova IGS, Phillips, GE MacLab, EPIC, IVUS, FFR

Experience Requirements

  • Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years experience required with recent Cath Lab/Interventional scrubbing experience
  • Travel Experience: First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience NOT required)

Licenses & Certifications Required

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • ARRT-R and/or RCIS certification

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • I9 or Attestation
  • Government Issued Photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
  • E-Verify or Attestation
  • Background Checks including:
    • 7-year criminal search within 30 days of start (updated annually)
    • SSN Trace, Counties, Nationwide, Sex Offender, OFAC
    • Education Verification
    • Maryland State Exclusions List check within 30 days of start
  • Employment Application/Resume (completed within 30 days of start)
  • Work History Verification (7 years preferred, 5 years acceptable with attestation)
  • Two supervisory references within 1 year of start (1 must be supervisor/manager, 1 charge RN acceptable if directly supervised)

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical Exam within 1 year of start (including Latex Screen)
  • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (updated annually)
  • Fit Mask Test within 1 year of start (3M N95 masks required)
  • Immunizations:
    • Flu Vaccine or Medical/Religious Exemption (required during flu season)
    • Tdap (Tetanus/Diphtheria) if working with newborns or small children (not required for ER unless Peds ER)
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
    • Hepatitis B: Positive titer or declination accepted (series not accepted)
  • Negative Drug Screen (9 or 10 panel + Fentanyl) within 30 days prior to start (instant tests NOT accepted)
  • COVID vaccine no longer required but exemptions accepted if required by location

Competency & Training Requirements

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (score 80% or higher)
  • Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
  • Competency Exam (score 80% or higher)
  • Age Specific Competency Exam (score 80% or higher)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (score 80% or higher, excludes some roles)
  • Facility-specific IT confidentiality agreement and badge photo required
  • Epic Portfolio Training Test Out Form (if applicable)

Additional Notes

  • Local travel accepted at a reduced rate
  • Candidate must be prepared for on-call and weekend work as specified
  • Facility-specific documents and questionnaires (e.g., Respirator Questionnaire, Latex Allergy Questionnaire) must be completed as required
  • Candidate must sign job description and confidentiality agreements prior to start

This position offers a structured 13-week travel contract with a focus on Cath Lab/Cardiology procedures, requiring a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and specific certifications. On-call and weekend availability are mandatory. First-time travelers are welcome.
