Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Case Manager RN) - Travel/Contract

Location: Bel Air, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)
Start Date: January 26, 2026
Shift: Days, Monday through Friday, 5x8 hour shifts (8:00/8:30 AM to 4:00/4:30 PM)
Hours: 40 hours per week, no weekends


Job Description

  • Role: Case Manager RN providing inpatient case management.
  • Responsibilities include coordinating medical home care, placement, and social services to ensure safe patient discharges.
  • Average daily census: 15 cases.
  • Work environment: Inpatient hospital/acute care.
  • Attire: Business casual.

Experience & Requirements

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (Case Manager)
  • Required Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty (inpatient hospital/acute care experience).
  • Prior travel experience: Not required; first-time travelers are accepted.
  • EPIC charting experience preferred.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Maryland RN state license required.
  • BLS preferred.
  • ACLS, NIH Stroke Certification, and other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment.
  • Additional certifications may be required as applicable (e.g., PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM).

Competencies & Exams

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (score 80%+).
  • Color Blind Testing.
  • Competency Exams relevant to specialty/unit.
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for most units except some exclusions).
  • Age Specific Competency Exam.

Health & Compliance Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (including Latex Screen).
  • Negative 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 30-45 days prior to start (instant tests not accepted).
  • Fit mask test within 1 year.
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (required for certain units).
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (positive titer or vaccination proof).
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer or declination accepted, series not accepted).
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol.
  • Flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
  • COVID vaccine no longer required but documentation collected for tracking.

Background & Documentation

  • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start; must be updated annually.
  • Education verification for highest level of education.
  • Employment history verification for previous 5 years.
  • Two professional references required (one must be a supervisor/manager or charge RN).
  • Government-issued photo ID required.
  • Maryland State Exclusions List check within 30 days of start.
  • Various facility-specific documents and agreements must be reviewed and signed prior to start (e.g., confidentiality agreements, dress code, appearance standards, OSHA questionnaire).

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must complete all required documentation and compliance steps prior to start.
  • Orientation and unit-specific training will be provided.
  • Some certifications and competencies may be completed during orientation.
  • Facility-specific policies and standards must be adhered to.

This position is ideal for RNs with at least 2 years of inpatient hospital experience seeking a travel contract opportunity with a structured day shift schedule and no weekend work. Prior travel experience is not required.
