Job Description
- Provide assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care in a busy outpatient Infusion Center.
- Deliver direct patient care, patient/family education, and manage transitions of care.
- Experienced in administration of oncology and non-oncology treatments.
- Provide holistic and individualized care considering psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
- Foster collaborative relationships with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare providers through effective communication.
- Adhere to hospital policies, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws to promote optimal patient experience.
Requirements
- Licensure: California RN Licensure required.
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Provider certificate
- Shift: 4x10 hour shifts
- Weekend/Holiday Requirement: 4-8 weekend shifts per schedule month; holidays as needed (no schedule requests granted for holidays).
Experience

- Other certifications may be required based on position specifics (e.g., PALS, NRP, CCRN, TNCC, EFM).
- State license verification and NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start.
- IV Certification may be required as applicable.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (must indicate cleared for work).
- Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (exceptions apply).
- Immunizations required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B series or declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov-April) or signed declination
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law).
Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable.
- Competency exams relevant to profession and unit may be required (e.g., Dysrhythmia/EKG).
Documentation & Compliance
- Must provide 7 years of verifiable work history with no gaps over 30 days.
- Unit-specific skills checklist required, renewed annually.
- References required by Aya Healthcare (not by client).
Additional Notes
- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific documents including job description, standards of business conduct, code of conduct, vendor training, and other regulatory documents prior to start.
- TB screening questionnaire required within 90 days of start and annually thereafter.
- Religious exemptions for vaccines and facial hair (PAPR) considered on a case-by-case basis with required documentation.
