Job Opportunity: Radiologic Technologist (Diagnostic Imaging)
Location: Weaverville, California
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
Seeking a licensed California Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging duties under general supervision. The role involves operating imaging equipment across multiple modalities, producing quality images, and adhering to all federal and state regulations applicable to Diagnostic Imaging services and Critical Access hospitals.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform imaging examinations in all modalities, including radiology and CT
- Position patients for optimal imaging results
- Work with minimal supervision and maintain patient confidentiality
- Organize equipment and supplies efficiently
- Respond quickly and effectively in emergencies and equipment breakdowns
- Maintain proper documentation and records for all modalities
- Assist with patient scheduling and phone inquiries
- Ensure compliance with all departmental, hospital, federal, and state policies and regulations
- Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) monitoring as required
- Share call and work schedules equally within the department
- Provide age-appropriate care and adjust procedures accordingly
- Assess patient behavior, motor skills, and safety needs
- Use appropriate shielding and contrast media based on patient age
- Remain flexible with staffing needs, including holidays, weekends, and call time
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiology program with an Associate of Science degree
- Current California Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) licensure required
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an Acute Care setting preferred
- Experience in at least two imaging modalities required
- Experience in a freestanding diagnostic imaging facility may substitute for Acute Care experience
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
Additional Information
- Position is within a small rural hospital setting
- Must be able to work under the scope of practice as defined by the California State Board of Radiology
Prior travel experience: Not specified / not required.
