Registered Nurse (MS/Tele RN) - Rochester, New York

Required Licenses and Certifications

Unit and Patient Population Details

• MedSurg Unit: 26 beds, patient care includes post PCI, pacemakers, AICDs, post MI, and cardiac pharmacological interventions
• Hematology/Oncology Unit: 36 beds, fast-paced, high acuity, includes chemotherapy patients, bone marrow transplant program development, opportunity for cross-training in MICU
• Patient population includes those actively receiving chemotherapy, recovering counts, admitted with chemo side effects, and medical patients with underlying cancer diagnoses

• Expected to manage a patient ratio between 1:5 and 1:7

Required Background and Compliance Checks

• Government issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
• 7-year criminal background check (including felony checks) within 3 months of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 3 months of start, run monthly
• Education verification from primary source (no hard copy degrees)
• Foreign equivalency evaluation if applicable
• Transcript/Diploma if education verification not on file
• NURSYS verification for RN license within 30 days of start
• Primary source verification of state license within 30 days of start

Health and Immunization Requirements (Must be completed within 5 days of contract signing)

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start, updated annually (specific mask types accepted)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
• TB questionnaire (acceptable in lieu of annual TB test renewal)
• Immunizations or titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (surface antibody positive titer, completed series, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Drug screening within 30 days of start (if booked within 30 days)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination (required during flu season)
• Snellen eye exam within 1 year of start
• COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required

Additional Requirements

• Photo for badge (passport-style with solid background)
• Completion of orientation safety manual acknowledgement
• Competency exams as required by profession/specialty (medication test/pharmacology, color blindness, etc.)
• References (2 within 3 years) required for Aya candidates only
