    Job Details

    • Start Date: ASAP
    • Contract Length: 13 weeks
    • Shift Requirements:
      • Weekend shifts every other weekend required
      • On-call required
      • Floating between like units required
      • Block scheduling accommodated per unit needs
    • Patient Ratios: 1:2
    • First-time travelers accepted: Yes
    • Locals accepted: No
    • Pending License accepted: No
    • Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off once every two weeks

    Experience Requirements

    • Specialty: Registered Nurse
    • Years of Experience Required: 2 years
    • Prior Travel Experience: Not required

    Certifications Required

    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • NIH Stroke Certification
    • Other certifications may be required based on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, Chemotherapy, EFM) — verify per unit needs

    Licensure

    • Must have a valid California RN license
    • NURSYS verification required
    • CPDH Certificate required for RTs working in CA (if applicable)

    Compliance & Documentation Requirements

    • Background Check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
    • Drug Screen: 10-panel within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
    • Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
    • Immunizations and Health Documents:
      • TDAP (within 10 years or declination accepted)
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
      • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
      • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
      • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
      • Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
      • COVID vaccine or declination
    • Respirator Safety Clearance required annually for travel candidates
    • Fit Mask testing required for travel candidates (updated annually)

    Training & Competency Requirements

    • Completion of Providence-specific WorkRamp modules prior to start, including:
      • Core regulatory requirements
      • Specialty-specific modules (ER, ICU, L&D, etc.) as applicable
      • Epic training modules (completion required before moving to Paid Day Work status)
    • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
    • Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
    • Color Blind Testing if required by unit

    Scheduling & Floating

    • Floating between like units is required
    • Block scheduling may be accommodated based on unit needs
    • Weekend shifts every other weekend required
    • On-call shifts required

    Additional Notes

    • Candidates must submit all required documentation at time of submission, including RTO (Return to Office) restrictions if applicable
    • Facility provides free parking
    • Scrub color for RNs: Solid Royal Blue
    • Candidates must comply with Providence’s floating policy acknowledgment
    • Locals are not accepted for this travel position

    This position is ideal for Registered Nurses with at least 2 years of acute care experience who are flexible with floating and on-call duties, and who are comfortable working in a fast-paced acute care hospital environment using Epic charting. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
