Description

Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: York, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Nights, 3 or 4 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts (18:45 - 7:15)
  • Schedule: Every other weekend (EOW) and holidays as needed
  • Floating: May be asked to float to rehab if needed
  • Patient Population: May care for COVID patients
  • Facility Environment: Tobacco and fragrance-free

Experience & Requirements

  • Minimum Specialty Experience: 2 years Registered Nurse experience
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not required; first-time travelers accepted
  • Certifications Required:
    • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Electronic Medical Record: EPIC experience required

Screening & Interview

  • Candidates will undergo clinical screening to determine fit
  • Final decision made by manager after interview

Time Off & Scheduling

  • Return to Office (RTO) maximum of 7 days
  • No scheduling requests guaranteed

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Background Checks:
    • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
    • HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
    • Pennsylvania FBI fingerprinting within 1 year of start (must be on file within first 45 days)
    • Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search within 1 year of start (must be finalized prior to start)
    • Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search within 5 years (results must be on file within first 45 days)
  • Education Verification: Highest level of education verified (degree, diploma, or transcripts)
  • References: 2 professional references within 3 years
  • Employment Application: Most recent resume/application required
  • Performance Evaluation: Completed onsite by unit managers during assignment
  • Skills Checklist: Required annually

Certifications & Competencies

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC accepted (check unit requirements)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - as applicable
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - as applicable
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - as applicable
  • Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam - as applicable
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (pass/fail exam required for all RNs except OR and Home Health)
  • Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing required for all RNs except OR and Home Health
  • State License verification (primary source online)
  • NURSYS verification for RN

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days (PPD not accepted)
  • Measles (Rubeola) - 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if titers negative/equivocal
  • Mumps - 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if titers negative/equivocal
  • Rubella - 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if titers negative/equivocal
  • Hepatitis B - positive titer or full vaccine series (3 doses) plus declination form if applicable
  • Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if titers negative/equivocal
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption required annually during flu season
  • COVID-19 vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption or declination accepted
  • Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year (Aya requirement only)
  • Respiratory Safety Clearance within 1 year, renewed annually

Facility Specific Requirements

  • Clear, professional, passport-style photo for badge
  • Completion and signing of facility-specific documents including:
    • Medical Statement Non-Employee Ability to Work
    • Commitment to Health & Wellness
    • Code of Conduct
    • Confidentiality Agreement
    • Non-Employee Affidavit
    • I9 Attestation and Documentation Attestation (agency completed)
  • Completion of Learning Management System (LMS) modules prior to start (PC/laptop only)
  • New Hire Orientation required by end of first day

  • Candidate may be asked to float to rehab unit as needed
  • Tobacco and fragrance-free environment; candidates should be notified prior to submission
  • No scheduling requests guaranteed; no Return to Office over 7 days allowed

This position is suitable for Registered Nurses with at least 2 years of experience, EPIC EMR proficiency, and required certifications. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
