Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Stepdown Cardiac
• Shift: Nights (7 PM – 7 AM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
• Weekend Hours: Every other weekend
• Call Requirements: As needed
• Number of Openings: 1
• Patient Population: All ages
• Patient Ratios: 5:1 to 6:1
• Unit Beds: 20
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): EPIC

Unit & Clinical Information

• Unit Type: Stepdown Cardiac (Progressive Care Unit)
• Trauma Level: Level 1 Trauma Center
• Common Diagnoses/Treatments:

  • Intermediate cardiac care bedside and telemetry monitoring
  • Acute MI, ACS, Pulmonary Edema, CHF
  • Arrhythmia, Chest Pain
  • Post-op Carotid endarterectomy and stents
  • Post AAA repair
  • Post PCI, Interventional Cardiac Cath with arterial lines
  • IV infusion

Requirements

• Licensure: Registered Nurse license valid in Pennsylvania
• Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, NIH Certification
• Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in Telemetry/Cardiac Step-down nursing
• Float Requirements: As needed/resource team
• Personality Fit: Professional demeanor
• Dress Code: Scrubs required; no casual wear allowed (specific scrub color provided after clearance)

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Additional Notes

• Candidates must complete all required Pennsylvania clearances and fingerprinting prior to start, including:

  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
  • Department of Human Services Fingerprinting
  • FBI Department of Aging Fingerprinting (within last 2 years or new)
  • PA State Police Clearance (PATCH)
• Orientation is held weekly on Mondays.
• Travel candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify.

This role offers the opportunity to work in a technologically advanced tertiary care hospital with a strong focus on cardiac stepdown care in a Level 1 Trauma Center setting.
