Description
CT Technologist - Raleigh, North Carolina
Job Summary
- Perform procedures and tests using Computerized Tomography (CT) equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data.
- Verify patient identification, obtain patient history, assist patients and family members requiring extra attention, ensure patient understanding and safety.
- Obtain CT images per protocols, manipulate images, perform multi-planar and 3D reconstruction, and select appropriate window and level settings.
- Administer oral and IV contrast according to protocols, establish IV lines, check lab values before contrast injection.
- Maintain understanding of PACS, transmit images to QC and EMR systems, verify and segment images, manage orders to avoid duplicates, and ensure accurate charge information.
- Perform tasks timely, maintain workflow, volunteer for challenging tasks and new research, produce quality diagnostic images, review patient charts and reports, maintain clean work environment, document incidents for improvement, and precept new employees and students.

Required Education
- Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science.
Required Certifications & Licensure
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences (ARRS) or registry eligible.
- Advanced certification in CT required.
- Registry must be obtained within one year of employment and maintained with continuing education annually.
- Current competency in Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (HCP BLS) required.
Experience
- Prior education, training, and experience sufficient to perform assigned tasks.
