Travel Nursing Opportunity - Psychiatric RN

Location: Alamogordo, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel, Full Time
Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Patient Population

Adult acute psychiatric unit
Current capacity: up to 16 patients
Planned expansion goal: 24-30 patients
Patient care system currently Cerner, transitioning to EPIC within 1-2 months

Job Summary

Provide routine and complex nursing care independently in a psychiatric setting
Manage clinical situations including making assignments and delegating to other care providers
Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
Administer medications and treatments per protocol, monitor side effects and effectiveness
Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers

Requirements

Education & Licensure

Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
RN license in New Mexico or compact license
BLS certification (AHA only) required

Experience

Minimum 1 year of experience in psychiatric nursing or related specialty preferred

Prior Travel Experience

Not explicitly required

ASAP start, no later than February 9th
Temporary to permanent preferred
Looking for experienced Psychiatric/Addiction RNs with strong psych skills to support unit growth
