Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Thomasville, Georgia
Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
Assignment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Unit: IMCU Stepdown
  • Shift: Days, some weekends and holidays
  • Schedule Options: 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts
  • Start Date: Approximately 3 weeks from offer
  • Possible extension after initial 13-week assignment
  • Minimal to no Return to Origin (RTO)

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 1 year recent Critical Care & ICU experience (highest required experience)
  • Skills:
    • Intermediate Frequency Monitoring (FM)
    • IV Start
    • Lab Draws/Sample Collection
    • Experience titrating critical drips
  • Prior travel experience preferred (not required)

Additional Requirements

  • Must wear Royal Blue scrubs (not provided)
  • Candidates within 30 miles of facility will not be accepted
  • Candidates 31-50 miles away may have pay adjustments (not included here)

Documentation & Compliance Requirements

  • Proof of I9 or Attestation
  • Government-issued photo ID (color copy required)
  • Proof of E-Verify or attestation
  • Residency Declaration Form (if working on a compact license)
  • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated for renewals
  • Proof of education (Diploma or Transcript accepted)
  • Fingerprinting per Georgia GCHEXS system (with 30-day grace period for results)
  • 3rd party education verification required
  • Annual OSHA, HIPAA & Joint Commission training attestation or testing
  • Primary source verification of state license
  • NURSYS verification for RNs
  • Annual medication/pharmacology competency exam
  • Annual competency exams (Core Part I, II, III)
  • Facility-specific HealthStream modules must be completed prior to start
  • Time-sensitive photo for badge (passport-style, no selfies)
  • Facility-specific forms (IS115, IS119) must be completed and signed (wet ink or DocuSign)
  • Dress code review required
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season unless approved medical/religious exemption
  • Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
  • Fit test completed onsite at no cost
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • TB testing: QGold or TSPOT within 30 days of start (no PPDs accepted)
  • Immunizations or titers required for: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
  • TB questionnaire within 30 days of start
  • Two recent supervisor/manager references verified within 12 months
  • Performance and internal evaluations if previously worked with the facility over 1 year

Notes

  • Candidates must be able to complete fingerprinting promptly; out-of-state candidates must be willing to travel to Georgia for fingerprinting or complete the mailed packet process.
  • Flu vaccine deadline is November 21st; documentation must be on file for clearance after this date.
  • References and evaluations are critical; unsatisfactory references may result in termination.
