    Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

    Location: Torrance, California
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Summary

    Seeking a Registered Nurse for Labor and Delivery to support the PM shift. Must be flexible to work weekends as required by contract length. The role may require floating to mother-baby units and possibly to another nearby Providence facility.


    Experience Requirements

    • Minimum 3 years of specialty experience required
    • First-time travelers accepted
    • Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

    Certifications Required

    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • AWHONN Advanced
    • BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

    Work Details

    • Weekend work required depending on contract length
    • No on-call required
    • Floating required between Labor & Delivery and Mother-Baby units
    • Block scheduling may be accommodated at manager’s discretion
    • Local candidates within 50 miles accepted
    • Pending licenses not accepted
    • Guaranteed hours with facility able to call off once per two-week pay period

    Compliance & Documentation Requirements

    • Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
    • Education verification required (nursing degree)
    • Drug screening (10 panel) within 90 days of start
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start
    • Immunizations and health documents required:
      • TDAP (within 10 years or declination)
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
      • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
      • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
      • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
      • Flu vaccine or declination during flu season
      • COVID vaccine or declination
    • Respirator fit testing required annually for travel candidates
    • References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
    • Employment application covering at least last 5 years

    Training & Competency Requirements

    • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
    • Skills checklist updated annually
    • Facility-specific training modules via WorkRamp platform, including:
      • Core regulatory requirements
      • Specialty-specific modules for Labor & Delivery
      • Epic training modules (completion required prior to working)
    • Color blind testing if required by unit
    • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification if required

    Additional Notes

    • Must complete float policy acknowledgement (may float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance)
    • Badge photo required for identification
    • No on-call duties
    • Local rate match within 50 miles radius
