Description
Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery RN (LTA)
Location: Albany, New York
Specialty: RN Labor and Delivery
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide comprehensive care to mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, immediate recovery, and postpartum.
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being.
- Administer medications and coach patients through labor.
- Assist during delivery and educate families on infant care.
- Comfortable working in the OR setting and acting as baby RN.
- Work within an LDRP model level 1 with special care nursery; affiliated hospital aligns as level 3.
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM.
- Holiday/weekend requirement: Every other weekend; holidays discussed upon hire depending on time of year.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing.
- Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required.
Certifications & Licenses Required (Must be current and verifiable)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- C-EFM (Certified Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
- Valid RN license (state-specific verification required within 30 days of start)
Health & Compliance Requirements
- COVID-19 vaccine with booster proof (or approved exemption/declination where applicable).
- MMR vaccination or immunity proof.
- Fit test for appropriate mask type (if applicable).
- Hepatitis B vaccination series initiated prior to start.
- Influenza vaccine or approved exemption (seasonal).
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA TB test; chest x-ray if positive TB as per regional requirements.
- Varicella vaccination or immunity proof.
- Physical/health statement confirming fitness to work (exam within last year).
- 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (no THC).
Professional & Background Requirements
- Resume and skills checklist within the past year.
- Two professional references.
- Signed confidentiality, conflict of interest, code of conduct, and audit services forms.
- Criminal background check (federal, nationwide, county) within 30 days of start, covering last 7 years.
- Education verification (highest degree or diploma/GED).
- EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) and OIG (Office of Inspector General) checks within 30 days.
- NSO (National Sex Offender) check within 30 days.
- System access form completed one week before start.
- Specialty-specific competency testing within the past year.
- Trinity profile and other agency-specific onboarding documentation as required.

- This is a Long-Term Assignment (LTA).
- The role requires working night shifts and some holiday/weekend coverage.
- Must be comfortable in a fast-paced labor and delivery environment including OR settings.
