Experience Requirements

• Years of Experience Required: Minimum 2 years preferred, 1.5 years absolute minimum (hard stop)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not accepted for first-time travelers (No first-time travelers allowed)

Schedule & Work Details

• On-Call Requirement: Yes; 7 days on call per 2-week pay period (2 nights/week + 1 weekend every 2 weeks)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, but may exceed every other weekend to meet unit needs
• Floating: Traveler will need to float between like units
• Block Scheduling: Possible, at manager’s discretion
• Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period
• Scheduling Requests: Requests due to outside employment will not be considered

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)

Licensure & Compliance

• Pending licenses are not accepted
• Must include Return to Office (RTO) restrictions at time of submission

Facility & Unit Information

• Scrub Color for RN: Royal Blue
• Other staff scrub colors vary by role (not required for RN)

Key Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background Check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
• Drug Testing: 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
• Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
• Immunizations and Health Documents:

  • TDAP (within 10 years or declination accepted)
  • Negative TB or Chest X-Ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Flu Vaccine during flu season or declination
  • COVID vaccine or declination
• Respirator Safety Clearance required for travel candidates (annual)
• References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
• Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format

Training & Competency Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
• Competency Exams as required by specialty
• Color Blind Testing (if required by unit)
• Skills Checklist: Required annually for applicable units
• Epic Access Training (if applicable)
• Providence WorkRamp Modules:

  • Core Modules for RN in California required annually
  • Specialty-specific modules for ER, ICU, L&D, OR, and other specialties as applicable
  • Regulatory and facility-specific modules must be completed prior to start

Additional Notes

• Float Policy Acknowledgement required; traveler may be required to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
• No scheduling accommodations for outside employment
• Elevated seasonal winter rate applies until 4/12, after which rates return to standard
• Facility provides free parking

This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab RNs with at least 2 years of specialty experience who have prior travel contract experience and are ready for a fast-paced acute care environment with on-call and weekend responsibilities.
