Job Opportunity: RN (Registered Nurse) - PCU/IMC
Location: Weston, Wisconsin
Specialty: PCU/IMC RN
Contract Length: 13 weeks

- BLS (AHA)
- EKG Course
Unit Details
- Unit Type: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Intermediate Care (IMC)
- Number of Beds: 30
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: Typically 1:4, may stretch to 1:5 with sick call or added CNA support
- Nurse Aide Ratio: 1:10-12 depending on census
- Tele/Monitor Techs present; RNs do not read their own strips
- Telemetry Monitor Brand: GE
Patient Population / Common Diagnoses
- Cardiac conditions (NSTEMI, post cath lab, Afib, CHF)
- GI bleed
- Detox
- Respiratory distress
- Sepsis
Skills & Experience Required
- Management of IV nitroglycerin, heparin, diltiazem, amiodarone
- Post cath lab experience beneficial
- Arterial line experience appreciated but not required
- RNs are required to titrate drips including nitro, diltiazem, insulin, heparin, amiodarone
Shift & Scheduling
- 12-hour shifts: 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am
- No self-scheduling
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday requirement: Every other holiday
- Call or standby required
- Floating required to Medical-Surgical or IMC overflow in ICU
Additional Information
- Charge nurses take 2 patients
- Respiratory therapy equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, Optiflow
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
- Unit-specific orientation up to 3 days
- Clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
