Job Opportunity: Radiology Technologist - CT/Xray

Location: Wrangell, Alaska
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Experience & Certification Requirements

  • Must have CT experience and certification.
  • Current ARRT in Radiography OR Current ARDMS in one category (Abdomen or OB/GYN).
  • BLS certification required within 45 days of start.
  • Clinical competency required within 3 months of hire and every three years.
  • Tech I: ARRT or ARDMS in one modality (e.g., general radiography or one ARDMS category).
  • Tech II: ARRT (CT, MR, MG, NM) or ARDMS certified in two modalities/categories (OB/GYN, Abdomen).

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform radiographic CT examinations of all body parts for diagnostic interpretation.
  • Apply principles of radiation protection and professional judgment during procedures.
  • Perform diagnostic medical radiography/sonography within the department and other areas.
  • Maintain patient records and files.
  • Assume responsibility for departmental quality assurance program.
  • Transfer patients to and from radiology.
  • Rotate shifts as required and be willing to take call, reporting to work within 20 minutes.
  • Willingness to learn and perform duties in multiple imaging modalities (Ultrasound, MRI, CT, Mammography).
  • Maintain competency in ancillary modalities.
  • Assist with invasive procedures and preparation in CT/Interventional area.
  • Consult with referring physicians and adjust protocols for pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients.
  • Competent in sterile technique, tele-radiology transmission, and venipuncture.
  • Assist in supply inventory and ordering; perform daily/weekly quality control.
  • Serve as Lead Technologist when required: organize workflow, assign staffing schedules, respond to staff concerns, assist in hiring and orientation, and act as expert resource.
  • Attend department meetings, in-services, and disaster drills.

  • Must provide 2 fingerprint cards upon acceptance of position.
  • Must be able to work well under stress.
  • Must be willing to work with patients and employees of all cultural and religious backgrounds.
  • Must adhere to ethics and compliance programs.
  • Must be willing to perform ancillary duties as assigned.
  • Must live at least 50 miles away from the facility (travelers only).
  • No housing or flights provided.
