Job Opportunity: Staff Nurse - Emergency Department
Location: Norwich, New York

Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department is responsible for protecting, promoting, and optimizing health and abilities, preventing illness and injury, and alleviating suffering through diagnosis, treatment, and advocacy. The RN ensures compliance with professional standards and promotes a patient-centered, healing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.
- Serve as primary or accountable nurse as assigned.
- Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management.
- Administer medications safely according to policy.
- Participate in resource utilization including staffing and time management.
- Comply with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and policies.
- Support Nursing Shared Governance, unit councils, improvement initiatives, and peer review.
- Engage in professional development and continuing education.
- Integrate nursing research and evidence-based practice.
- Provide a supportive learning environment for new staff and students.
- Perform Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator duties when assigned.

- Current New York State Registered Nurse License
- BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross)
- Unit-specific requirements may apply
Preferred: Professional certification in a related nursing specialty
