Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Med Surg Tele Unit)

Job Summary

Provide direct nursing care for patients of all ages in the Med Surg Telemetry Unit. Utilize the nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Manage care of assigned patients and direct ancillary staff activities. Demonstrate leadership skills, including charge nurse responsibilities.

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
• California RN License

Job Duties

• Provide direct nursing care across all age/developmental stages
• Assess physiological and psychological needs of patients
• Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
• Manage patient care assignments efficiently and cost-effectively
• Perform charge nurse functions and demonstrate leadership

  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
  • Hepatitis B series or declination
  • Varicella
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination during flu season (Nov-April)
• Respiratory safety clearance prior to start, renewed annually
• References: 2 professional references required (Aya requirement only)
• Employment history: Full 7 years of work history with no gaps, verification required

• TB questionnaire must be completed and signed by a healthcare provider within 90 days of start and renewed annually.
• Religious exemptions for vaccines and facial hair (PAPR) are handled on a case-by-case basis with required documentation.
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification and other competencies may be required depending on position specifics.
• Competency exams such as medication test/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG may be required as applicable.
