Job Opportunity: Med Surg RN (Full-Time Night Shift)

Location: Fairfield, Iowa
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Provide total patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient needs.
• Direct and guide patient teaching and ancillary personnel activities.
• Maintain professional nursing standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Iowa RN license required.
• BCLS & ACLS certification required (American Heart Association).
• Experience preferred but not required.

Work Schedule

• Full-time night shift.
• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM).
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation.

Required Certifications and Compliance

• BLS & ACLS certifications current and valid.
• Immunizations required:

  • MMR (2 doses or positive titers)
  • Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
  • Polio
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
  • Current TDaP (within 10 years)
  • COVID-19 vaccine
  • Flu vaccine during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
• Negative 2-step Mantoux test within 1 year or QuantiFERON Gold; if positive, proof of chest x-ray required.
• Proof of physical exam within 1 year.
• 10 Panel Drug Screen within 1 month.
• Respiratory Fit Test within 1 year (can be provided if needed).
• Criminal background checks for all states of licensure and residence in the past 7 years.
• National and/or State Sex Offender checks.
• Federal exclusions checks (GSA Sam.gov, OIG).
• Iowa Mandatory Reporter Certificates (Child Abuse & Dependent Adult Abuse).
• Completion of CareLearning education modules prior to start.

Experience Requirements

• No minimum years of specialty nursing experience required (experience preferred).
• No prior travel experience required.
