Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Job Details

  • Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday required
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
  • On-call: Not required
  • Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
  • Block Schedule Accommodation: Not applicable

  • Return to Office Restrictions: 1 request allowed

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • AWHONN Intermediate

Certifications must be current and cannot expire within 30 days of start date.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Proof of I9 or attestation
  • Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
  • E-Verify or attestation
  • Background Check: 7-year criminal history, nationwide, sex offender, FACIS Level 3, education verification
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
  • Education verification from primary source required
  • State License Verification: Washington D.C. license only, primary source verified
  • NURSYS verification required for all RNs
  • Competency exams as applicable (medication/pharmacology, core parts)
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (HIPAA compliance)
  • Physical Exam: Initial and annual, must meet physical demands of position
  • Fit Mask Testing: Annual fit testing required
  • Immunizations and Titers:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (vaccine or declination form)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (titer or 2 vaccines, booster if needed)
    • Hepatitis B (vaccine, titer, or declination form)
    • Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines, booster if needed)
    • Flu Vaccine: Required for all candidates; religious and medical exemptions accepted with approval
  • Drug Testing: 9-panel drug screen within last 12 months (instant acceptable)
  • References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
  • Employment Application: Complete with licensure, certifications, education, and employment history

Additional Notes

  • Must be able to work every other weekend and holiday as scheduled
  • Floating within scope of practice may be required to meet facility needs
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as per DC mandate (no exemptions accepted)
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
