Job Description
- Night Shift Generalist role
- Must have knowledge and experience in:
- Vascular
- Orthopedics
- General Surgery
- Neurosurgery
Contract Length
- 12 weeks
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (American Heart Association only)
- ACLS (American Heart Association only)
- Valid permanent RN license (no temporary licenses accepted) with primary source verification within 30 days of start and updated every 2 years
- License/Certificate Verification
Required Health & Safety Credentials
- COVID-19 Vaccine (preferred, not required)
- MMR: Positive titers within last 15 years or appropriate booster protocol
- Fit Test: Completed within 1 year of start (specific mask types required)
- Hepatitis B: Proof of full series, partial series, or signed declination (no childhood vaccines allowed)
- Positive PPD: Negative chest X-ray within 5 years and current TB questionnaire (if applicable)
- Varicella: Positive titers within last 15 years or appropriate booster protocol
- Tdap: Proof of vaccination within past 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Annual Negative PPD or 2-Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) within last 6 months
- Influenza Vaccine: Proof of vaccination from Oct-March or approved medical/religious exemption (no declinations)
- Physical/Health Statement: Pre-employment physical exam within 1 year stating ability to work without restrictions
- Drug Screen: 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start (no instant screens, lab report required)
Professional & Employment Verification
- Ohio Fingerprints: BCI&I check and FCRA-compliant national criminal background check (requirements vary based on length of Ohio residency)
- Criminal Background Check: Within 6 months of start, including SSN trace, county searches, national criminal sweep, and NSO
- Social Security Trace (if not included in background check)
- National Database Criminal Background Check (for Ohio residents)
- Employment Verification: Verification of employment within last 5 years through third-party
- Education Verification: Highest level of education verified; international education requires equivalency documentation
- UHS I-9 Attestation: Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
- OIG Search: Within 6 months prior to start
- SAM/EPLS/GSA/OFAC Screening: Within 6 months prior to start
- UHS NSO (if not included in background check)
Competency & Skills Requirements
- UHS Competency Exam: Must score at least 80%, completed within 1 year prior to start
- UHS Core Competencies: Includes HIPAA, Joint Commission-NPSG, OSHA topics; 80% passing score required, completed within 1 year prior to start
- UHS Skills Checklist: Clinical skill-specific checklist completed within 1 year prior to start (initial hire only)
- UHS Module Completion Certificate: Safety and compliance training modules must be completed prior to clearance
Additional Requirements
- Resume including education and work history, 2 professional references within last 2 years, and completed job application

This position requires a highly skilled RN with trauma center experience and multiple certifications, ready for a 12-week travel assignment on night shifts.
