• Residency Requirement: Traveler’s permanent residence must be at least 100 miles from the hospital’s service area.

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support): Required for any candidate with patient contact. AHA Instructor or Provider; RQI accepted.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required as per unit description. AHA Instructor or Provider; RQI accepted.
• NIH Stroke Certification: Preferred.
• Other Certifications (as applicable):

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – Required for ER; can be pending at start but highly preferred.
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – Highly preferred for ER candidates.
• State License Verification: Primary source verification required.
• NURSYS Verification: Required for RN, LPN/LVN, AP.

Experience Requirements

Orientation & Training

• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season.

Competencies & Exams

• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
• General competency exam required.

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Photo for badge within 48 hours of contract signing.
• Completion of various facility-specific forms including dress code, smoking/tobacco use policy, contaminated sharps and body fluid exposure statement, influenza policy, and respirator medical evaluation questionnaire.
• Candidate must review and comply with CDC facial hair guidelines for respirator use.

Additional Notes

• Hospital may cancel or call off one shift biweekly without penalty if census decreases.
• Additional shifts beyond work commitment may be flexed as needed without penalty.
• Active participation in nursing student education is expected.
