Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (3N MICU)

Job Details

• Unit: 3N MICU
• Beds: 16
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2, 1:1 for higher acuity patients
• Common Patient Diagnoses: Respiratory, Stroke, Neurological, GI, Cardiac, etc.
• Shift Times:

  • 07:00 - 19:30
  • 19:00 - 07:30
• Scheduling: Self-scheduling allowed but last to submit hours; block scheduling not guaranteed
• Weekend Requirements: Every other or every third weekend, depending on schedule needs
• Holiday Requirements: Every other holiday or more if willing/able
• Call/Standby: None
• Floating: Agency staff float first to like units or as patient observers within hospital
• Dress Code: No specific scrub color required; clean and professional attire expected
• Orientation:

  • 1 day hospital orientation
  • 2 days unit-specific orientation

Required Certifications

• ACLS (AHA)
• BLS (AHA)
• NIHSS

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years ICU experience
• 1 year prior travel experience required
• Must have Cerner electronic health record experience

Clinical Responsibilities & Skills

• RNs required to titrate many drips (including all ICU drips, propofol, precedex, vasopressors)
• Proficient in rhythm strip interpretation; each RN reads their own patient’s cardiac strips
• Work alongside two pulmonologists with resident teams during the day and one team at night
• Respiratory Therapist available 24/7 in ICU
• Use of respiratory equipment including vents, BiPAP/CPAP, vapotherm, trachs, nitric oxide

Additional Information

• Charge nurse does not take patient assignments
• Nurse aides available (1 per unit) to support nursing staff
• Clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
• Previous Marshfield employees must have a minimum 6-month gap since last employment before reapplying

This position is ideal for experienced ICU nurses with prior travel experience looking for a 13-week contract in a critical care setting with diverse patient populations and advanced clinical responsibilities.
