Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Location: Richmond, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Unit: Maternal Infant Unit
Number of Beds: 24
Number of Staff: 71
Shift Types:
- Day Shift: labor nurse, nursery nurse, OB tech, secretary, leadership, educator
- Night Shift: labor nurse, nursery nurse, OB tech, secretary
Patient Ratios:
- Labor: 1:1 (most of the time)
- Post-partum: 5-6:1
- Nursery: 5-6:1
Equipment: GE fetal monitors
EMR Systems: Meditech, CPN

Job Responsibilities

Vaginal deliveries
C-sections
Care of antepartum patients
Newborn and post-partum care

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification

Preferred Qualifications

2+ years of labor experience in an LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) unit with high birth volumes

Additional Information

Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs; infant security badges are pink
Weekend/On-call Schedule: Every third weekend with 12 hours of call per 4-week schedule
