    Description

    Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Case Management

    Location: Puyallup, Washington


    Position Details

    • Specialty: Case Management
    • Shift: Inpatient RN Case Manager, 4/10-hour shifts, every other weekend
    • Schedule: Typically five 8-hour shifts per week; maximum 6 consecutive shifts
    • Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
    • Holidays: Required to work at least 1 holiday, more if desired
    • Overtime: Must request approval; possibility to pick up extra shifts at other facilities
    • Orientation: 1-3 days; expected to begin patient care immediately, paired with another Case Manager RN
    • Floating: None
    • Dress Code: Business casual (no scrubs)
    • Parking: Free parking available

    Experience & Requirements

    • Years of Experience:
      • Minimum 2 years recent acute inpatient case management experience
      • Minimum 4 years overall nursing experience
    • Prior Travel Experience: Not accepted for first-time travelers (prior travel experience required)
    • Patient Population:
      • Adults only (no pediatrics)
      • Patients from ICU, PCU, MedSurg, and ER
      • No Labor & Delivery or NICU patients
      • Candidates with predominantly pediatric hospital experience are not a good fit

    Licensure & Certifications

    • Washington RN License required
    • BSN required
    • BLS certification not required

    Skills & Knowledge

    • Acute care case management experience is essential
    • Knowledge of healthcare financial and reimbursement processes
    • Experience with post-discharge planning and community resource coordination
    • ER and Utilization Review experience preferred
    • EPIC EMR experience required

    Patient Ratios

    • Approximately 1:15-20

    Support & Technology

    • Support from leadership, peers, and Case Management assistants
    • EMR system: EPIC (required)

    Additional Notes

    • Breaks are required during shifts
    • Schedule is managed by the manager and provided a few weeks in advance
    • Requests for time off must be approved by the manager and submitted upfront

    Contract Length

    • 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

    COVID-19 Policy

    • COVID vaccine is required for employment

    This position is ideal for experienced inpatient case management nurses with strong acute care skills and prior travel contract experience.
