Job Opportunity: MS/Tele Float Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Rochester, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 8 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: MS/Tele Float RN
  • Shift: 3x12 hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00) with optional 4x12 shifts upon approval
  • Start Date: February 17, 2026
  • Floating: Required (this is an overhire float unit)
  • Charting System: EPIC experience required
  • License: Must have New York RN license in hand
  • Certifications: BLS required
  • Candidate Location: Must live more than 75 miles from the facility
  • First Time Travelers: Accepted

Experience Requirements

  • Years of Specialty Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum RN experience typical for float roles (confirm with recruiter)

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA provider/instructor/RQI acceptable
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - as required by unit
  • PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification - as required by unit description
  • State RN License verification (primary source verification within 30 days of start)
  • NURSYS Verification (for RN) within 30 days of start

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check (including felony checks) within 3 months of start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 3 months of start and monthly thereafter
  • Education verification from primary source (no hard copy degrees)
  • Foreign equivalency evaluation if applicable
  • Employment verification (at least 2 past employments for direct candidates)
  • References (2 within 3 years) required for direct candidates only

Health and Immunization Requirements (Must be completed within 5 days of contract signing)

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (updated annually)
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific mask types accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
  • TB questionnaire annually (acceptable in lieu of annual TB test)
  • Immunizations or positive titers for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (surface antibody positive titer, completed series, or declination)
    • Varicella
  • Drug screening within 30 days of start (not required annually)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season
  • Eye exam (Snellen) within 1 year of start
  • COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required

Additional Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID required
  • Clear, passport-style photo for badge
  • Completion of orientation safety manual acknowledgment
  • Medication/pharmacology competency exam as required
  • Color blindness testing required once
  • Competency exams as required by specialty/profession

Notes

  • Locals must live more than 75 miles away to qualify
  • Floating between units is mandatory
  • First-time travel nurses are accepted for this assignment

This position is ideal for RNs with MS/Tele experience who are comfortable floating and have EPIC charting skills. All licensure, certifications, and health requirements must be current and verifiable.
