    Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

    Location: Orange, California
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Position Overview

    • Specialty: Registered Nurse (ICU)
    • Recent ICU experience required
    • High acuity ICU experience highly preferred
    • Patient ratio: 1:2
    • Weekend requirement: Every other weekend, may exceed to meet unit needs
    • Floating: Required to float between like units (DSU)
    • Block scheduling: Possible, at manager's discretion
    • On-call: Not required
    • First-time travelers accepted
    • Pending license: Not accepted
    • Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period
    • Local radius: 50 miles

    Required Experience & Certifications

    • Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience (highest requirement)
    • Certifications required:
      • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
      • BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)

    Scheduling Notes

    • Weekends may exceed every other weekend to accommodate unit needs
    • Scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered
    • Travel pairs will not be considered

    Compliance & Documentation Requirements

    • Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; updated annually
    • Drug screen: 10 panel within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
    • Immunizations and health documents required:
      • TDAP (within 10 years) or declination
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
      • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
      • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
      • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
      • Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
      • COVID vaccine or declination
    • Respirator clearance (RespSafety) required annually for travel candidates
    • Fit mask test required for travel candidates (updated annually)

    Training & Competency Requirements

    • Providence WorkRamp modules:
      • Core regulatory modules annually
      • Specialty-specific modules for ICU and travel nurses
      • Epic training modules (completion required prior to or shortly after start)
    • Competency exams as applicable (medication, pharmacology, fetal monitoring if applicable)
    • Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units

    Additional Notes

    • Must complete Providence float policy acknowledgment (may be required to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance)
    • References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty within the last 3 years
    • Employment application covering at least last 5 years required
    • Pending license candidates are not accepted
    • RTO (Return to Office) restrictions must be included at time of submission
