Job Opportunity: RN - PICU (Travel)
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
Seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at a leading hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a travel assignment offering the opportunity to work in a highly recognized facility with advanced technology and a supportive team environment.
Unit Details
- Unit: PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit)
- Number of Beds: 9
- Patient Ratios:
- PICU: 1 RN to 1-2 patients
- Stepdown: 1 RN to 2-3 patients
- Scheduling:
- 6-week schedule requiring 3 weekends worked
- Self-scheduling available
- Floating Policy: May float to Pediatrics and NICU
- Documentation System: Cerner
- Equipment: Alaris pumps
- Dress Code: Navy blue or white scrubs (all navy, all white, or navy pants with white tops)
Required Qualifications
- Licenses: Registered Nurse License
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - Required
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of PICU experience
- Prior Travel Experience: Not specified (assumed not required)
Skills and Procedures
- IV starts
- Catheter care
- Holding for lumbar punctures (LPs)
- Central line dressing changes
- Hemodynamic monitoring
- Tracheostomy care
- Tube feeding and placement
- Intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring
- Ventilator management
