Job Opportunity: RN - ICU (Travel Assignment)

Location: Riverside, California

Unit & Work Environment

• Unit: SICU/MICU (Surgical and Medical Intensive Care Units)
• Number of Beds: MICU - 35 beds, SICU - 34 beds
• Patient Ratios: 1:2 and 1:1
• Staffing: 1 secretary in SICU, 1 Patient Care Technician (PCT) in MICU
• Equipment: Tele monitor, EV1000, bladder scanner, ventilators
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling: Three 12-hour shifts
• Floating Policy: Telemetry, Step-down, ICU units
• Dress Code: Blue scrubs

Required Certifications & Licenses

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIH Certification
• Registered Nurse License

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience (higher value between 1 and 2 years)
• Prior travel experience not explicitly required

Skills & Competencies

• Requested Skill Set:

  • Titration of drips
  • Neuro management (NIR)
  • Trauma experience
  • Tracheostomy care
  • Non-invasive and mechanical ventilation
  • Chest drainage and thoracentesis
  • Urinary catheter insertion
  • Dialysis (SLED)
  • External Ventricular Drain (EVD) management
  • Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) experience

• Advanced Skills Needed:

  • Arterial line (A-line) management
  • Central venous catheter (CVC) management
  • Cardiac monitoring
  • Pulmonary artery catheter management
  • Lumbar drains
  • EVD management

• Procedures Performed on Unit:

  • Chest tube insertion
  • Tracheostomy
  • Bronchoscopy
  • Intubation
