Description

Job Opportunity: L&D RN (Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse)

Location: Dodgeville, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: Night shifts, 6pm - 6am
Weekend Requirement: Yes (or could be every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 6pm-6am)
Holiday Requirement: Yes (depending on contract dates)
Floating Requirement: Yes, may float to medical-surgical unit


Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • Current Wisconsin or compact nursing license

Experience Requirements

  • Specialty: Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Nursery

  • Patient Type: Lower risk OB (35 weeks+), Level I Nursery
  • Nurse-to-patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines
  • No requirement for RNs to titrate drips
  • No charge nurse or house supervisor role required
  • No nurse aids or surgical techs on unit
  • No OB/Neonatologist in house 24/7
  • Respiratory Therapy Equipment: Bubble C-Pap available
  • No telemetry or monitor techs; RNs read strips
  • EFM System: Obix, Epic
  • Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
  • Orientation: Unit-specific orientation covering L&D, Postpartum, Nursery, and attendance at C-Sections for baby on evening/night shifts
