Description
Job Opportunity: CT Tech - Radiology
Location: Reno, Nevada
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
As a CT Technologist, you will produce diagnostic CT scans under the supervision of the CT Supervisor, assist radiologists during procedures, and ensure high-quality patient care. The role involves working primarily inpatient and requires coordination of daily workflow including ER, inpatient, and outpatient cases. You will be responsible for operating advanced CT imaging equipment and administering IV contrast materials as directed.
Work Schedule
- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (5:00 pm - 5:30 am)
- Weekend night shifts: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
- No call required
- May be required to work major holidays and pick up one additional shift during the schedule period
- Floating to other areas within competency may be required
Required Qualifications
- Licenses:
- American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) upon hire
- CT Registry (AART) must be obtained within 12 months of hire
- State of Nevada Medical Radiography license
- Certifications:
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 60 days of hire
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in CT or related department
- Experience in trauma imaging required
- Prior travel experience required
- Skills:
- Proficient in operating CT scanning and contrast injection equipment
- Ability to make technical decisions to optimize scan quality
- Knowledge of hospital and departmental computer systems
- Ability to provide patient care across all age groups (neonatal to geriatric)
- Ability to perform CT procedures according to departmental policies and guidelines
Job Responsibilities
- Produce diagnostic CT scans and assist radiologists during procedures
- Ensure patient safety and care throughout imaging process
- Coordinate workflow for ER, inpatient, and outpatient CT scans
- Perform quality control monitoring of imaging equipment
- Administer IV contrast materials under radiologist direction
- Maintain current CPR certification and complete mandatory in-services
- Operate various CT imaging units and image storage systems
- Manage care prioritization in a fast-paced environment with changing volumes
- Provide input for strategic planning of the CT department

- The facility is a Level II Trauma Center and the only trauma center between Sacramento and Salt Lake City
- The center treats over 80,000 ER and trauma patients annually
- Advanced technologies and specialized services include low-dose CT imaging, robotic surgery, PET/CT scanning, and 3T MRI
- The position requires adaptability to meet the needs of a busy trauma and inpatient environment
This role is ideal for CT Technologists with trauma experience who have prior travel assignments and are looking to work in a high-acuity, technologically advanced trauma center.
