    Job Summary

    Seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) for a travel/contract position in California.


    Experience Requirements

    • Specialty: Registered Nurse (PACU)

    • IV Certification (for LVN/LPN/Other as applicable)
    • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) (if applicable)
    • NIH Stroke Certification (every 2 years)
    • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Certification (if applicable)
    • State License (RN) - Must be valid and verifiable
    • NURSYS Verification (for RN)

    Background and Compliance Requirements

    • Background Check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
    • Education Verification for nursing degree
    • Drug Testing: 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
    • Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
    • Immunizations and Health Documents:
      • TDAP Vaccine within 10 years or declination
      • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 12 months
      • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
      • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
      • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
      • Flu Vaccine during flu season or declination
      • COVID Vaccine or declination
    • Respirator Safety Clearance (RespSafety) for travel candidates, medically cleared annually
    • Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background)

    Competency and Skills

    • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
    • Competency Exams relevant to specialty
    • Color Blind Testing (if required by unit)
    • Skills Checklist updated annually (clinical specialties)

    Employment History and References

    • Employment Application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors)
    • Minimum of 2 references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years from supervisors in comparable specialty/setting

    Facility and Regional Training Modules

    • Completion of Providence WorkRamp Core and Specialty Modules as assigned based on region and specialty
    • Annual Regulatory Requirements modules for all caregivers
    • Epic Access training modules (if applicable)

    Additional Notes

    • Float Policy Acknowledgement required; may be required to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
    • Some state-specific background and registry checks may apply depending on placement location (e.g., Washington state requirements)
