Job Opportunity: CT Technologist (Computed Tomography)

Location: Jerome, Idaho
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Specialty & Experience Requirements

• Specialty: Imaging Services – CT and X-ray
• Required Certifications:

  • BLS Certification
  • ARRT registry for CT and X-ray modalities
• Experience:

  • Must have experience working in both CT and X-ray areas
  • Comfortable working in either specialty, even if not recently practiced
  • Prefer experience with Philips and Siemens imaging equipment
• Prior travel experience: Not specified (assumed not required)

Job Details & Duties

• Imaging performed: ER, inpatient, outpatient exams, portables, stroke certified, trauma, limited inpatients
• No OR or fluoroscopy duties
• Average daily volume:

  • 5-10 CT scans
  • 8-10 Ultrasounds
  • 10-15 X-rays
• Equipment used:

  • Philips X-ray and portable units
  • Siemens CT and X-ray machines
• EMR/PACS systems: EPIC, McKesson/Change Healthcare PACS
• IV starts required for CT outpatients; training provided for Point of Care Creatinine testing (EPOC)
• Orientation: 1-3 days department-specific orientation, extendable if needed

Work Schedule & Environment

• Shift length: 10-hour shifts
• Coverage: 24/7 coverage
• Typical shifts:

  • Day shift has 2 techs
  • Night shift (6pm-7am) usually 1 tech
  • Some 12-hour weekend shifts
• Weekend and holiday requirements:

  • Weekends only if posted
  • Holidays typically down-staffed, time off to be discussed during interview
• No call or standby requirements
• Dress code: No specific scrub color required
• Possible float to other areas, rarely shared with nearby hospital

Additional Notes

• Radiologist available by call at nearby hospital
• No Registered Radiology Assistants (RRAs) on staff
• Department leadership includes a lead tech and manager
• Medical Imaging educator available to support onboarding and training

This position is ideal for CT Technologists with solid experience in both CT and X-ray modalities looking for a 13-week contract in a hospital setting with a supportive team and comprehensive orientation.
