Job Opportunity: Temporary Registered Nurse (RN) - Lactation Consultant Program Coordinator

Location: Pittsfield, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Temporary Contract (13 weeks)


Position Overview

This role involves providing expert assessment, treatment, consultation, planning, and leadership oversight for optimal lactation management in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The position requires formulating interdisciplinary care plans for patients with advanced lactation support needs and communicating these plans with the care team.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Licensure: Must hold a valid Massachusetts nursing license (RN, OT, PT, SLP, or Pharmacist license accepted if meeting job requirements).
  • Certification:
    • International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification required (equivalent certifications NOT accepted).
    • American Heart Association BLS certification required.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 1+ years as an IBCLC.
    • At least 2,500 hours of experience as a breastfeeding consultant.
    • Experience with inpatient lactation programs required.
    • Experience in outpatient prenatal and postpartum lactation education, consultations, and/or teaching required.
  • Technical Skills: Meditech Expanse experience is strongly preferred.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Must have own vehicle for assignment.
    • Must include all certifications and required documents at profile upload; facility will not pend certifications after offer.
    • Must include permanent address with profile; candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered.
    • Requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted and verified at profile upload; no more than 5 days of RTO allowed. No RTO requests will be approved after submission.

  • Orientation: 8 hours non-billable orientation required.
  • Holiday and overtime pay multipliers apply.
  • Facility is a 298-bed teaching hospital recognized for patient safety and clinical excellence.
  • The hospital offers a full continuum of medical specialties and state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging services.
