Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (PACU) - Travel/Contract
Location: Davis, California
Contract Length: 11 weeks
Position Overview
- Accountable for assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care in an acute patient setting.
- Provides direct patient care, patient/family education, and manages transitions of care.
- Develops and implements individualized care plans considering psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
- Maintains collaborative relationships with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare providers through effective communication.
- Adheres to hospital policies, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws to promote optimal patient experience.
- Call may be required on weekends but is minimal and based on departmental need.
Requirements
- License: California Registered Nurse (CA RN) license required.
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (highest required years of experience).
- Technical Skills: Experience with EPIC electronic health record system.
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required.
Background Checks & Compliance
- 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including SSN trace, county searches, sex offender search, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening.
- Annual updates required for EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and FACIS screenings.
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law).
- TB screening: Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days of start, renewed annually.
- Immunizations and Titers: Must provide proof of immunity or vaccination for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (series or declination)
- Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30).
- Physical exam required within 1 year of start.
- Fit test for approved masks required within 1 year of start, renewed annually.
Certifications & Competencies
- Certification verifications required within 30 days of start, including state license and NURSYS verification.
- Competency exams as applicable, including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG competency exams.
- Additional certifications may be required depending on position specifics (e.g., CCRN, TNCC, NRP, EFM).
