Description
Job Opportunity: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Therapy
Location: San Antonio, Texas
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit
- 32 beds
- Staff includes approximately 35 therapists and 50 nurses
- Day Shift Staff: 8 OTs, 8 PTs, 1 Rehab Aide, 7 Nurses, 3 PCTs, 1 UC
- Patient treatment time: Approximately 5 to 6 hours per day
- Equipment used: H200/L300, BURT
- EMR system: Meditech
Required Qualifications
- Certifications:
- ASHA Certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Licenses:
- Valid Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) License
- Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Speech-Language Pathology specialty (inpatient rehab experience preferred)
- Prior Travel Experience:
- Not explicitly required
Skills and Attributes
- Basic knowledge of inpatient rehabilitation required
- Ability to work flexibly as part of a team
- Outgoing, flexible, and knowledgeable personality preferred
- Previous inpatient rehab experience is a plus
- Willingness to work a minimum of 2 weekend shifts per 4-week period

- Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
- Patient evaluations
- Usual inpatient rehab treatments
Additional Information
- Floating to other Methodist inpatient rehab units may be required
- Dress code: Black pants and olive scrub top
