Job Opportunity: RN - Telemetry

Location: Corpus Christi, Texas
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Unit: Heart Telemetry
Number of Beds: 25
Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 free charge nurse, 1 unit coordinator, 2 patient care technicians (PCTs), 5 RNs
- Night Shift: 5 RNs, 1 PCT
Patient Ratios: Typically 6:1, sometimes 5:1
Equipment: Baxter IV Pumps, KCI wound vacs, SCD pumps
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech

Required Certifications and Licenses

BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
NIH Certification
Registered Nurse License

Experience Requirements

Minimum 1 year of experience in the RN specialty (Telemetry)

Preferred Skills

Experience with Meditech EMR system
Telemetry experience

Typical Procedures and Skills Needed

General medical/surgical nursing competencies
Ability to manage:
- Chest tubes
- Non-titrated Cardizem and Amiodarone drips
- Weight-based heparin drips

Dress Code

Scrubs color: Royal blue

Additional Notes

The unit is well-staffed with experienced personnel.
Competitive market; having the preferred skills and certifications will improve chances of selection.
Exposure to advanced cardiac monitoring and infusion management on a telemetry unit.

This position is ideal for RNs with telemetry experience seeking a travel assignment in a supportive and well-equipped cardiac telemetry unit.
