Job Opportunity: CT Tech

Location: Sandy, Utah

Job Summary

• Perform high-quality CT procedures using independent judgment and initiative.
• Use ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.
• Prepare patients for exams, verify orders, and ensure proper patient identification.
• Perform exams according to department protocols.
• Understand cross-sectional anatomy and demonstrate anatomical positioning competency.
• Follow radiation safety protocols (ALARA program).
• Critique own films and complete studies within department time limits without compromising patient care or exam quality.
• Administer oral barium or intravenous contrast as ordered and under supervision.
• Practice infection control and sterile techniques.
• Provide patient education and ensure patient comfort.
• Operate CT equipment and related information systems to produce quality images.
• Use contrast injectors, laser printers, and electronic imaging systems proficiently.
• Complete all required documentation accurately, including time stamps and image storage.
• Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, quality control, and report equipment issues.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience in CT.
• Post-hire expectations:

  • Achieve departmental IV certification competency within 3 months.
  • Complete controlled substance module within 6 months (if applicable).
  • Complete initial moderate sedation module within 6 months (if applicable).
• Physical requirements include hearing/listening, lifting, manual dexterity, seeing, and standing.
• Radiation badge (dosimeter) required for monitoring exposure; prior badge use encouraged if available.
