Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Shift/Hours: 4x10 hour days (07:00 - 17:30)

Job Description
- Position: Cardiac Cath Lab Tech - Days, 40 hours/week
- Average Daily Case Volume: 15 cases
- Number of Rooms: 4
- Patient Age Range: Adult/Geriatric
- Patient Diagnoses include:
- Coronary Artery Disease (CAD)
- Myocardial Infarction (MI)
- Post-cardiac arrest
- Pre/post-transplant
- Cardiogenic shock
- Heart failure
- Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO), Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD)
- Pericardial effusion and tamponade
- Pulmonary Hypertension (PHTN)
- Pre-surgical cases
- Aortic stenosis, mitral and tricuspid regurgitation
Procedures & Equipment
Procedures:
- Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI)
- Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO)
- PFO and ASD closure
- Coronary atherectomy
- Pericardiocentesis
- Aortic valvuloplasty
- Septostomy
- Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
- Mitraclip and Triclip placement
- Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) placement
- Impella placement
- Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) placement
- Coronary thrombectomy
Equipment:
- Impella console
- IABP console
- Shockwave system
- Boston Scientific IVUS/FFR/DFR
- Acist system
- MedRad
- Rotablader
- Pneumbra
- Various coronary wires, stents, and balloons
Experience & Certification Requirements
- Specialty Experience:
- Minimum 3 years if ARRT-R certified
- Minimum 2 years if RCIS certified
- Prior Travel Experience:
- Not accepting first-time travelers (prior travel experience required)
- Licenses/Certifications Required:
- RCIS or ARRT-R
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
Work Schedule & On-Call
- Holidays: Required as scheduled
- Weekends: One weekend per month required (inclusive of on-call)
- On-Call: One day per week plus one weekend per month on-call
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background Checks: 7-year criminal search within 30 days of start, updated annually
- Education Verification: Required for highest level of education
- State-specific Exclusion List: Maryland Medicaid Sanctioned Providers List must be checked within 30 days of start
- Physical Exam: Required within 1 year of start, including Latex Screening
- Fit Mask Test: Required within 1 year of start
- Immunizations & Testing:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
- Required vaccinations or proof of immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption required for the 2025-26 season
- COVID vaccine not required for this location but documentation collected for tracking
- Drug Testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start (instant tests not accepted)
- References: Two supervisory references within 1 year of start
- Employment History Verification: Previous 5 years required (attestation accepted if necessary)
- Competency Exams: Medication, Age-specific, Dysrhythmia/EKG, and others as applicable, must score 80% or higher
Facility Specific Notes
- Scrub Color: Navy blue (pink for trauma), pediatric department allows child-friendly tops with navy blue pants
- Dress Code: Business casual for GOR department or case management; no jeans, open-toe shoes, sleeveless tops, or shorts
- Badge Photo: Passport-style photo with solid white/beige background required
- Confidentiality Agreement and Job Description must be signed prior to start
- Security ID Application must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract
This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab Techs with prior travel assignments who hold the required certifications and are comfortable with a demanding schedule including on-call and weekend duties.
