Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room (Travel)

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work schedule: Every Other Week (EOW), Every Other Holiday (EOH)
• Required experience:

  • Minimum 3 years plus previous travel experience OR
  • More than 5 years in a large Emergency Department without travel experience
• EPIC electronic health record system experience required
• May need to float onsite within skill set or to other sites within 40 miles if needed

Required Qualifications

Licenses & Certifications

• Current RN license in Wisconsin with primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
• BLS (American Heart Association)
• ACLS (American Heart Association)
• PALS (American Heart Association)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• NIH Certification (updated as required)
• Ascension-specific certifications and competencies including:

  • Ascension Color Vision
  • Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.)
  • Ascension EKG Exam
  • Ascension Epic Test-Out

Health & Immunizations

• MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
• Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
• Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31), exemptions accepted with mask requirement
• Varicella: Proof of immunity or two doses of vaccine (no declinations accepted)
• Tdap: Valid within last 10 years (no declinations accepted)
• TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, and annual TB questionnaire
• Fit Test: Annual respiratory fit test required (3M 1860 or 1870+ masks)
• 2 Step PPD or IGRA within 90 days of start
• Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start

Other Requirements

• Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
• Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 30 days prior to start
• Employment and education verifications within 90 days prior to start
• Ascension Skills Checklist completed within 1 year of start and updated annually
• Driver’s License/State ID (must be valid and match address requirements)
• Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
• Ascension onboarding requirements and education attestations completed prior to start
• Ascension Badge Photo (professional headshot)

Experience Requirements

• Specialty Years of Experience: Minimum 5 years in Emergency Department (if no prior travel experience) OR 3+ years with prior travel experience
• Prior Travel Experience: Required if less than 5 years ED experience (must have previous travel experience)

Additional Notes

• Floating to other sites within 40 miles may be required
• Must be proficient with EPIC system
• Compliance with Ascension-specific policies and training is mandatory

This position is ideal for experienced Emergency Room RNs with strong clinical skills and EPIC proficiency, who are comfortable with travel assignments and flexible site locations.
