Job Opportunity: RN - Telemetry (Travel)

Location: Springfield, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Telemetry
  • Shift: Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (must be specified on submission)
  • Weekend Hours: As required by facility
  • Call Requirements: None
  • Number of Openings: 1
  • Unit: Medical 7B
  • Number of Beds: 32
  • Patient Ratios: Vary by shift (Days 1:5-1:6, Nights 1:6-1:7) — ratios not guaranteed
  • EMR System: EPIC
  • Equipment: Telemetry monitors, lift equipment, IV pumps, tube feeding pumps
  • Float Requirements: Rotational basis

Required Qualifications

  • License: Current RN license eligible or active in Missouri
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (American Heart Association) required
    • NIHSS certification required prior to start (may submit without initially)
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year telemetry experience (inpatient only)
  • Skills:
    • Experience and competence in drug titration
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not required

Job Description

  • Provide direct patient care for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize care and comfort.
  • Function within the scope of nursing practice consistent with Missouri Nurse Practice Act and facility standards.
  • Maintain patient rights and confidentiality.
  • Utilize nursing process for patients post trauma, surgical interventions, and medical comorbidities.
  • Maintain professional accountability and evaluate care effectiveness.

Working Conditions

  • Stand and walk most of the shift.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance.
  • Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, kneeling, crouching, and minimal crawling.
  • Exposure to blood and body fluids is a high risk.
  • May require flexible scheduling and shift changes based on patient care needs.

  • Scrub color: Black only (no other colors allowed)
  • Flexible guaranteed hours (36 or 48) must be indicated on submission form
  • Night shift orientation occurs on day shift and requires full week availability
  • Time off requests (RTO) have specific restrictions (e.g., no RTO in first week, only one holiday RTO per assignment)
